A ski safari,
in search of the best snow in the world…

Available dates in January 2026:

  • From 08 to 17 January 2026
  • From 16 to 25 January 2026
Every year, the island of Hokkaidō enjoys exceptional snow cover and extraordinarily light snow, described by some as ‘the best powder in the world’. It is also a volcanic island, so we will ski on an active volcano surrounded by fumaroles.
To make the most of our skiing opportunities, we will alternate skiing in the resorts with trips to the mountains. Many of these outings will be facilitated by the ski lifts, which will provide quick access to the best off-piste terrain. You will need wide skis (minimum 90 mm, ideally over 105 mm) with touring bindings.
FLEXIBILITY, ADAPTABILITY, PERSONALIZED

Hokkaido Island

The island of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island, is a natural paradise. You’ll enjoy every bit of its scenery, mountains, lakes and seascapes to the fullest.

With unrivalled snow cover and some of the best in the world, this region of Japan has become a must for freeride skiing.

Our philosophy

Our trips are planned, developed and supervised by a team of enthusiasts. We give special importance to the human aspect and detail in every project we undertake.

Our trips carry our signature: in a meticulously studied area, we offer tailor-made itineraries, as well as high-quality cuisine and accommodation.

A unique environment in search of Hokkaidō’s famous powder snow.

Why
a ski safari?

Discover the island of Hokkaido and its various sites in depth, and ensure maximum flexibility in finding the best snow between the north and south of the island.

Why use ski mountaineering equipment ?

If it hasn’t snowed for 2/3 days, it is better to stay away from the most popular sites. We will use ski touring equipment to find better conditions in virgin areas. Depending on your physical condition, these outings can involve between 300 and 800 m of ascent…

What equipment to use?

We are skiers first and foremost, and we prefer to go downhill. We therefore recommend skis with a 90-105 mm wide, equipped with low-tech touring bindings (a lightweight, high-performance set) and boots with Freerando insoles. Of course, the usual safety equipment is mandatory: avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe (ABS backpack optional).

Our trips are based on 7 days of freeride, backcountry and off-piste skiing. In search of Hokkaidō’s famous powder snow, we will be able to adapt to the conditions. Accommodation will be booked a few days before our departure to guarantee you the best snow conditions.
