Greenland invites you to live an unforgettable journey between the ice and the sea.
Greenland
Greenland is the world’s largest island and lies at the northeastern tip of North America, between the Atlantic and the Arctic ocean. Despite being part of the Kingdom of Denmark, Greenland has experienced a high degree of self-government since 1979, managing most of its internal affairs.
- Area : approximately 2 166 000 km², 80 % of which is covered by an ice sheet, the second largest in the world after Antarctica.
- Population : about 56 000 inhabitants. Most of them are
Inuit or of Inuit-Danish descent. - Climate : predominantly arctic, with extremely cold temperatures in winter and cool weather in summer. Coastal areas are more habitable due to the influence of the sea, but life is still harsh with low temperatures a major part of the year and long winter nights.
